Spring Scarves

It's pretty cold here in Wales, even though the sun is shining. So a scarf is an essential item for me for when I'm out and about.  Here are my scarves for this spring

I have four scarves to show you!

The first one is a coral scarf with dragonflies on it. This is a huge scarf which I absolutely love because you can achieve many styles with a bigger scarf.  Coral is in this season and when I saw it I had to have it.  Also it was 25%.  I bought this scarf in Sainsbury's from the TU range for £6.  I had this a while ago and I was really surprised to find that it was still online for 25% off! Click the link if you want to have a look at it.  Coral Scarf

The next I have chosen is from River Island. This is a smaller scarf in comparison to the Sainsbury's scarf.  It's a silk scarf and I think it's perfect for when it's quite warm because it's light.  Also, the scarf is covered in flowers and birds which is very spring-like.

This is a snood from River Island. It's mint green with robin's on it and it's snugly. Need I say anymore?

This is a floral scarf from new look.  It's quite small but I think the colours are beautiful and this scarf can go with many clothes.

Hope this has given you some ideas!

NOTD ( Nail of the Day )

It was sunny yesterday and I'm getting a bit tired of dark nail polishes. I love dark nail polishes, but I just wanted something brighter.

This is Max factor's Max Effect Mini Nail Polish in Diva Violet.

I like this nail polish because it's a MINI nail polish.  I'm more likely to finish this nail polish in comparison to my bigger nail polish bottles etc. Butter London and Barry M.

Also, I like this colour for spring because it's bright, but not too bright!

This nail polish retails at £3.99, which I think is quite expensive for a mini nail polish considering that Barry M nail paints are  £2.99 for a "normal" sized bottle.  BUT, I do love their nail polishes!

I also own the colour Fantasy Fire, which I recommend.  IT'S BEAUTIFUL!
Another colour they have (which I want to buy) is Graffiti!

It's 3 for 2 in Boots at the moment, so it's worth having a look!
You could get 3 mini nail polishes for under £8.

Mini Haul!

Yes, I went shopping....
In my defence there was a sale in RiverIsland and I had a voucher + it was 3 for 2 in boots...
I bought four things.

This is a red geometric print skater skirt (according to the website).  I picked this up because I thought it would be nice to wear now with thick tights or legging, but also it will look nice in the summer!  RiverIsland have tons of skirts on sale in this style! I would go and have a look if I were you.
This skirt is on sale on the website for £10 at the moment! ( I got it in store for £10 too!) They only have size 16 and 18 left at the moment.  Sorry if it's gone, but here is the link = red geometric print skater skirt

Then I went to boots.

I really wanted a foundation brush.  I have an ecotools foundation brush, but when that gets really dirty I want to switch brushes. ( Realtechniques are supposed to be the best around - we'll see!).  So I bought a stippling brush. I've saw Tanya Burr use this for her foundation, so it's her fault that I bought it...  I liked the way her foundation looked on her after she used this brush.

I thought, I might as well try another brush because it's 3 for 2 at Boots so I picked up the Realtechniques powder brush.  I've been using sponges for my powder foundation for years, now is the time to use a proper brush!  I have to admit, when I got home I opened the brushes straight away and they are really soft. (Yes, I'm strange.)

So, I had what I wanted, but oh dear, I have to pick up my "free" item or the 3 for 2 offer wouldn't work.  I'm so disappointed... HAHA! It was an excuse for me to buy a coral nail polish and coral is on trend this season.  I picked up Essie's Cute as a Button. It's a pinky coral and I'm very excited to try it. Nail of the Day coming soon.

Have you bought anything in the sales?

P.S, I'm on the hunt for a coral handbag.  Found one in outfit but it was £45, I do love it, but that's too expensive. Any suggestions?

REVIEW: Maybelline's The Rocket Mascara

Today I'm reviewing a very popular product - The Rocket Mascara by Maybelline!
This Mascara has the biggest wand I've ever seen ( don't laugh! ) and it's made of plastic.  You can really get the little hairs by using this mascara.

Benefits of this Mascara:
  1. Volume
  2. Thickening
  3. Affordable
  4.
BUT I do have a problem with this mascara.  I don't know whether it's me or eye makeup remover I'm currently using, but it's a nightmare to take off and this is not the waterproof version!
I have used two different eye makeup removers on it and it's a pain to get off.

For that reason I probably wouldn't buy this mascara again because it hurts my eyes when I try to take it off.  This is such a shame because it looks lovely on the eyelashes :(

Currently £7.99 in Boots and I think it's 3 for 2 at the moment if you want to try it!

Affordable Make-up Storage

I find it difficult to keep my make-up tidy.  I'm a student and I can't afford a huge vanity dedicated to make-up and I don't have enough make-up to fill one (I'd like to!).

So, I'm still not happy about the way I keep my face products and eyeshadows, but I think I've found a good way to keep my brushes, lip products and eyeliners.
I keep my lip products and mascara in this jar.  I can see what's inside and my products are standing up which is great! I found this jar at a pound shop for about £2, but I'm sure you can get these jars in supermarkets!
I know storage must be practical, but who said it has to be dull.  You can buy any tea light/candle holder of your choice.  I chose this one. It's from Vinegar Hill. It was about £4 in the shop, but I'm not sure if you can get this online.
I keep my brushes in this mug.  This mug is absolutely HUGE and so pretty. I bought this mug in TKMaxx for £4.99. Any pretty mug will do, but I suggest if you want a pretty mug that's a bit different I would go to TKMaxx ( with a good home department), HomeSense, Dunelm Mill or something similar!

I hope this has given you some inspiration to do some spring cleaning!

Beauty Haul and Birthday wishes!

I recently celebrated my 18th birthday! Firstly, I would like to thank my family and friends for making it such a wonderful birthday.  I was overwhelmed by your generosity.

Here's a sneak peek of what I received beauty wise. Therefore there will be more reviews! YAY!

I think I squealed when I saw the Jo Malone box.  Seriously.

Clinique 3 Step Skincare System

I have normal skin but my nose is really dry.  I've tried so many moisturisers and I'm always on the hunt for the moisturiser and I think I have found it....

I went to try this kit in Boots. There's a cleanser, toner and a moisturiser in this kit and they are travel sized.  It's perfect if you don't want to splurge and buy the full size products and then find that you hate the products!

The clinique lady was very helpful!  As I said before I have a very dry nose and it gets flaky ( TMI ), but since using this my nose has been normal. No flaking, nothing! I don't know whether if it's the 3 products working together that makes this work, or that it's just the yellow moisturiser.
However, I'm so happy that my nose has finally cleared. I can put foundation on my nose now with out making it look gross!
The kit retails at £20, which is great if you are on the hunt for new skincare.  I'm skin type 1. There are 4 skin types ranging from 1 -very dry and 4 - very oily. I recommend that you go for a skin consultation because you don't want to guess when buying something like this. £20 is still a lot of money!
The problem that I have now is that I want to buy the full size products, which I think will cost me about £70 ! Ouch...

If you are interested, click here to where you can buy the kit and the full size products :)
